Now that smokable medical marijuana is legal in the Sunshine State, some South Florida cannabis providers are seeing more qualified patients.
Trulieve is claiming to be the first licensed medical cannabis provider in Florida to sell medical cannabis in smokable form to people living in the state.
The company did a Facebook live in Tallahassee Thursday morning, featuring a patient who replaced fifteen prescriptions with smokable medical cannabis.
At Trulieve’s Treatment Center in Boynton Beach patients with medical marijuana cards got their first chance to purchase the company’s Tru-flower brand of cannabis approved for smoking.
Each package shows the amount of active ingredient based on flower potency. Qualified patients say the pricing for the 3.5 gram packages are reasonable.
“Considering what’s on the black market on the streets, this is very comparable in price,” said David Weisbrot, a qualified patient. “You’re getting a much better product. You know where it’s coming from. It’s tested by the state.”
Patients can only get a medical marijuana card after seeing a qualified doctor.
