Finding out that you are medically ill can be devastating, especially if the diagnosis is fatal. That’s what happened for 52-year-old Joy Smith.
Two years ago, on August of 2016, her doctors diagnosed her with an incurable stomach and bowel cancer and told Joy that she would have around six weeks left to live – with chemotherapy only delaying the inevitable.
To make matters worse, after starting her chemo treatment, the line that was used to deliver the chemotherapy into her body had to be taken out because after she developed sepsis.
Sepsis is the body’s overwhelming and life-threatening response to infection that can lead to tissue damage, organ failure, and death. Running out of time, her friends decide to research alternative cures.

Defying Expectations
Joy really defied all expectations of her doctors. After two years of taking regular doses of cannabis oil, her once inoperable tumors are pretty much all gone. She is still taking the cannabis oil in order to clear up the last bit of cancer remaining in her stomach. However, she is very optimistic.
“I am being monitored every three months, but other than that I have no more treatment planned.”
When expressing her utter joy, Joy says that she keeps pinching herself to see if her recovery is real. “My daughter is in Australia at the minute, and when I told her she thought I was lying! Everyone around me has been amazing, I have an army behind me, and they’re all so happy.”
Joy, who lives in the UK, says that cannabis oil itself is still illegal to possess, buy and sell. However, she is determined to make it legal, saying that “I wouldn’t be here without it.” Her priority now is fighting to get the medicine that saved her life legalized with a petition that has attracted more than 67,032 signatures. She says that she receives thousands of messages a day from people living with cancer who are desperate to know more about her miracle cure and how to get hold of it themselves.

I am Joy Smith I was given 6 weeks to live in August 2016. I had incurable and inoperable stage 4 cancer in small bowel, stomach, pelvis, ovary and an unknown primary. I have been taking Cannabis Oil as my friends had researched and found Rick Simpson’s web page showing how Cannabis Oil attacks the cancer cells and makes them commit suicide. I now only have a little bit of cancer in my gastric stomach. This would have been impossible with chemotherapy alone. I want to take my petition to Theresa May to get cannabis oil legalized in this country for medical use as it is legalized in other countries and proven to work.
“I have got to get it legalized. I am so happy, happier than I have ever been. I just keep sharing the petition and hope it will make a difference. I believe my reason for being here is to help everyone else. Unless you have been faced with death, you don’t know.”
